RESPONSE TO EQUITY FORWARD'S LIES AND DISTORTIONS

Real Alternatives Response to Equity Forward’s Latest Lies and Distortions

Equity Forward is a pro-abortion organization run by a former vice president of Planned Parenthood. They have a history of false and libelous statements against Real Alternatives and its life-affirming programs.

Equity Forward, like the pro-abortion organization “Campaign for Accountability,” has attempted to paint a completely false picture of Real Alternatives and the successful Michigan Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program. Their accusations are NOT TRUE.

The Michigan Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program has served 6,781 women the first 5 years (October 1, 2013 – September 30, 2018) and will most likely reach 8,000 Michigander women served by the end of the fiscal year September 30, 2019.

These women in unexpected pregnancies are grateful to their fellow citizens for this program – women in these situations usually find themselves alone with feelings of hopelessness. Many are also pressured to abort by others. This program provides caring and compassionate counselors from the moment they find out they are pregnant through 12 months after the birth of their baby. Counselors love these women as if they were their own daughters. This program empowers women! They are no longer alone facing an unexpected pregnancy.

The program has a very low administrative cost of 10.67%. Small portions of the executive staff salaries are charged to the Michigan Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program, which is listed in the budget in the MI Department of Health and Human Services contract.

Real Alternatives is national nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide life-affirming pregnancy and parenting support services throughout the country. Michigan taxpayer dollars DO NOT PAY FOR WORK OUTSIDE the Department of Health and Human Services Contract. Michigan taxpayer dollars DO NOT PAY FOR WORK IN OTHER STATES. Our perfect CPA audits show this year after year. Real Alternatives gladly receives contributions to grow its successful programs in other states.
